tattoo ring
I used Fusion 360 to create a ring inspired by tattoo patterns. Like tattoos, it was not meant to be a particularly large/chunky statement piece and rather blend with the skin. All the curved cutouts on my ring are unique (i.e. it's not a pattern) and I put patina on the inside walls of the cutouts to emphasize the tattoo-like look. It's also a fairly light ring (t's around 7.5 grams) so I think this makes it easier to wear like a tattoo.
I decided to CAD this instead of hand carve it because CAD allowed me to make sections of the ring fairly thin (like the sections between the cutouts and the overall thickness of the ring) without having to worry that the wax would break. Furthermore, I wanted the ring to have a wedding band-like curvature, and 3D printing it helped ensure that uniformity while giving me freedom to add intricate designs.
